Why Buy Designer Sunglasses in Australia? Why They’re Worth the Splurge

Designer sunglasses are made with high-quality materials that are built to last. From the hinges to the lenses, everything is designed to withstand daily wear and tear. Whether you’re looking for a classic pair or something trendier, you’ll be sure to find a style for you.

Okay, so they look great. But fashion aside, why are sunnies so important?

  • Protection from the elements - Aside from the obvious Australia sun, external particles such as wind, sand, dust and dirt are all common irritants that can damage the corneas of our eyes. Sunglasses protect our eyes by shielding them (while making us look fabulous).
  • They safeguard our eyes - Persistent contact to the sun’s UV rays can lead to unwanted eye disorders such as cataracts and pterygium, which causes a build-up over the eye distorting sight. Wearing sunglasses with UV protection helps protect us against these. We love these women’s Tol glasses with 100% UV protection!
  • Headache prevention - By helping to refract headache-causing glare caused by screens, sunglasses are great at keeping those pesky pains away.

Choosing the Right Sunglasses in Australia

Did you know, we should be choosing glasses that are the opposite of our face shape? If you have:

  • A round face – choose a rectangular frame
  • A square jaw – go for rounded frames
  • A heart-shaped chin - you’ll want to go for oversize, squoval edge frames

Now you know your face shape, let’s move on to positioning your glasses.  First, go and stand in front of a mirror and have a look at where your eyes are centred on your face, then assess where your nose sits in between them. If you have a smaller bridge, you want to make sure your glasses won’t pinch and leave marks.

Now, check out your ears. How are they? Think about this when picking frames with thick arms – the thicker the arm, the higher they will sit.
